- Contracts
- All employees of the school - unless they are doing a maternity cover - are on indefinite contracts (Contrato de Duración Indefinida).
- Staff whose salaries are unilaterally terminated by the school without legal justification are entitled to severance pay. This will range from 30 to 40 days' salary per year worked at the School.
- Social Security
- The School pays Social Security contributions for all its employees; this entitles employees to full free medical cover, contribution to state pension and unemployment benefit.
- Salaries
- Staff at Runnymede College are paid very competitive salaries by local standards.
- All new members of staff receive a € 1,000 settling-in allowance for those moving from outside Spain.
- Holidays
- Summer: July and August.
- Christmas: just over two weeks.
- Easter: two weeks.
- Half terms: one week in the first term (end of October / beginning of November) and one week in February. There is no half term in the third term due to the large number of public holidays.
- Teachers are not expected to work in summer schools.
- Accommodation
- Although the School does not provide accommodation and does not contribute to defraying the cost of accommodation, new members of staff are helped to find a suitable home by the School.
- Air fares
- The School does not pay for air fares to and from Spain.

- Head of Department Physical Education
- HOD who is responsible to oversee sporting activities for the whole school (Year 1-13).
Responsible for organising the inter-schools athletics & cross country competitions.
Responsible for extra curricular activities (from 16:00-17:30), such as athletics, basketball & football.
Responsible for organising outward bound activities (camping,canoeing, hill walking, nordic skiing, orienteering, rock climbing, etc) and trips throughout the school year for the different year groups.
The successful applicant for this post will have:
- A good Honours degree from a British university
- A PGCE
- Recent experience as a teacher in a school in England or Wales
- Previous experience of international schools will help but is not essential
- A working knowledge of common software
- Must be a native English speaker but no knowledge of Spanish is required
- Key Stage 4 Physics Teacher
- From Years 10 to 13 (IGCSE & A level).
The successful applicant for this post will have:
- A good Honours degree from a British university
- A PGCE
- Recent experience as a teacher in a school in England or Wales
- Previous experience of international schools will help but is not essential
- A working knowledge of common software
- Must be a native English speaker but no knowledge of Spanish is required
- Geography Teacher
- From Year 7 to A level.
The successful applicant for this post will have:
- The ability to teach English as a Second Language and Literature up to KS4.
- A good Honours degree from a British university
- A PGCE
- Recent experience as a teacher in a school in England or Wales
- Previous experience of international schools will help but is not essential
- A working knowledge of common software
- Must be a native English speaker but no knowledge of Spanish is required
- Science Teacher
- For Middle School (Key Stage 3) & IGCSE Biology (Key Stage 4).
