Christmas PartyThe 2011 Christmas Fair was a huge success due to the generosity and participation of the parents. We raised more than 8,000 euros for our charity Aladina! This year we decided to shake up the usual program and add a new Arts and Crafts market organized by Mari Carmen Bowers. All the children in Junior School did a special project creating holiday goodies to buy. The gymnasium was filled with garlands and ornaments and handcrafted gifts ready to be taken home by family and friends. Pepa Sardinero brought us a holiday photo booth with costumes and wintery backdrop waiting for children and parents to create their holiday cards. The Student Council organized and ran various games and booths to keep the crowds entertained before the dance and choral performances. In the main hall we had our gourmet cakes table filled with holiday goodies donated by the families of Runnymede. We also had our annual tombola and raffle brimming with fabulous prizes once again all generously given by parents and friends. The open bar helped to keep the parents happy until their little ones appeared on stage to perform. Miss Foy's Dance Club once again rallied the crowd to move and sway to the hip hop beat while the girls danced their hearts away. Immediately following we had Miss Balashova's Christmas Choir sing us a few favorite carols with perfect tone and lyrics. James Preston arrived on stage just in time to announce the end of the raffle ticket selling and the beginning of the prize giving. All in all we are sure that everyone enjoyed the Christmas Fair this year. We saw many many smiles and the halls were constantly filled with laughter and giggles. With a visit from Santa tossing candies and sweets to everyone he saw, we are sure that the holidays were off to a very good start thanks to everyone at Runnymede!
