Runnymede College is a selective entry school. The admissions process is designed to ensure pupils joining the school will be able to cope with the British curriculum and enjoy their learning experience at Runnymede. All parents and pupils are invited to meet the Headmaster who personally oversees every application with the support of his admissions team.

The Admissions Process

  • Apply
    Request for information or apply directly for admission using the forms below. We will send you the School prospectus and other relevant information. We will then ask you to fill out our enrolment form.
  • Visit Us
    Once you have filled out the enrolment form we will contact you to arrange a visit. You will meet the Headmaster who will answer any queries and show you around the campus. In the meantime, you can explore the campus via our interactive campus map.
  • Entrance Test
    Where places are available, applicants applying for Year 1 upwards will be invited to sit our admissions tests (see admissions requirements).
  • Enrol
    Once the entrance tests and interview have been passed the School, our Admissions Officer will then get in touch to give you further information concerning availability of places.

Admissions Requirements

Pre-Nursery, Nursery & Reception (Early Years Foundation Stage)

  • Runnymede follows the British ethos, that very young children learn best when engaged and immersed in play which captures their imagination, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Once enrolled the children and parents are invited to spend a morning with us in May.
  • The cut off date is the 31st of August throughout the school (pupils joining Pre-Nursery must have turned two before the 31st of August)

Years 1-10 (Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4)

  • To attain a place, your child will have to pass an interview in English and written tests in both English and Maths.
  • The School cannot accept pupils into Year 11 as both years of the IGCSE programme must be done at Runnymede (Years 10 and 11).

Sixth Form

  • Pupils entering the Sixth Form are expected to have a minimum of eight A or A* at IGCSE. Candidates will also be invited to a personal interview with the Headmaster and Heads of Sixth Form.
  • Pupils hoping to go to British Universities should have at least a Grade B in IGCSE First Language English and a B in Mathematics.
  • Prospective parents are also required to present their child’s latest school report and a confidential reference.
  • The School cannot accept pupils into Year 13 as both years of the A Level programme must be done at Runnymede (Years 12 and 13).
