Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year has been celebrated in many classrooms across the Junior School.

The children have been painting dragons and making pig masks as 2019 is the Year of the Pig.

They have read the story of the Chinese zodiac and have been counting the animals and retelling the tale.

They have tried Chinese food, eaten with chopsticks and there was a special lunch for all.

They have sung songs in Chinese and the Nursery children performed a brilliant dragon dance around the playground with drums and chimes. Year 1 and 4 enjoyed a talk from a parent who was born in Hong Kong and asked lots of questions.

Happy New Year to all the Chinese Community!
